Terms of use

Last updated 7 October 2026

ScanIDCard is a free tool that runs in your browser. Using it means you agree to these terms.

Copy only what you may copy

Copy documents that are yours, or that you may copy, for a lawful purpose. Don't alter a document, pass a copy off as an original, or copy a restricted document. US military ID cards are one: federal law makes copying them a crime unless the rules allow it.1

Check what you're asked for

Whoever asks for the copy decides what they accept. Where an official requirement differs from our guides, follow it. Nothing here is legal advice.

No guarantee

Provided as it is, free, without warranty. Check each copy: print at 100%, measure, read it. To the extent the law allows, ScanIDCard isn't liable for any loss from using the site or a copy made with it.

Your photos

They stay on your device (see Privacy). Where you send a copy, and to whom, is up to you.

Not affiliated

Not affiliated with any agency, issuer or printer maker. The cards drawn here are made-up specimens.

Changes

We may change the site and these terms; the date at the top says when.
