A front and back photocopy; an in-state, fully valid license with photo is a primary ID.3 The rules.

Form I-9A new job

Not every card

Cards you shouldn't copy.

US military ID cards are a special case. Federal law makes copying them a crime unless regulations allow it.6 The Defense Department's rules give examples of authorized copies, such as for medical care, check cashing, voting and tax matters.7
