Sign a PDF: draw, type or use a photo of your signature
Open the PDF, make your signature and drag it into place: on one page, on every page, or on the pages you choose, in the same position. The pages stay exactly as they were; only your signature is added, and nothing is uploaded.

How it works
Open, sign, download.
Open the PDF
Any PDF on your phone or computer, any number of pages. Each page is drawn here, on your device.
Make your signature
Draw it, type your name or use a photo of it on paper. Black or blue ink.
Place it and download
Drag it into place, resize it from its corner, pick the pages. The signed copy is saved next to your other downloads.
Your signature
Three ways to make it.
Whichever you choose, it stays on this page until you close it.
- DrawWith a finger, a pen or the mouse
The strokes are smoothed as you go, a little thinner where you sign fast, like ink. Undo takes back the last stroke.
- TypeYour name in a handwriting font
Type your name and it's written in a script that looks signed. It also works with a keyboard alone.
- PhotoYour real signature from paper
Sign on white paper and photograph it. The paper is taken away and only the ink stays, in its own color; a slider keeps more or fewer faint strokes.
Several pages
The same spot on every page.
Contracts often ask for a signature or initials on each page. Place it once, then choose where else it goes.
- This pageOnly where you placed it
The default: one signature, one page.
- All pagesEvery page, same position
Initials at the foot of each page, or a signature on each sheet of a form.
- Some pagesThe pages you type
Such as 1-3, 5. Pages of another size get it at the same place on the sheet, at the same size.
Add the date, your initials or a line of text the same way, under Date, initials, a line. Each one is placed, moved and repeated on its own.
The file
Only your signature is added.
The original pages are kept as they are, not turned into pictures, so their text stays sharp and can still be selected and searched.
- PagesSame count, same size
Nothing is added, removed, cropped or turned.
- On topA picture of your signature
With a transparent background, drawn over the page where you put it.
- NameEnds in -signed.pdf
lease.pdf comes back as lease-signed.pdf, so the original is still there.
Copies of an ID
Asked for a self-attested copy?
Make the copy of your card with the ID scanner and turn on Sign it on its last screen: the same pad puts your signature under the copy. See Aadhaar and PAN.
Already have the copy as a PDF? Open it above and sign it here. Need it smaller for an upload form? ID card to PDF explains file sizes.
Questions
Short answers.
Is this a digital signature?
No. It's a handwritten-style electronic signature: a picture of your signature placed on the page. A certified digital signature also carries a certificate that proves who signed and that nothing changed since; this tool doesn't add one. Ask whoever sent the PDF which kind they accept.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The pages are drawn and the signature is written by code running in your browser, and the signed file is saved straight to your device. Privacy.
Can I sign a PDF that has a password?
Not here. A PDF locked against changes can't be signed without its password; open it in the program that made it, save a copy without the lock, and sign that.
Can I sign a scanned document?
Yes. A scan is a PDF of pictures, and the signature goes on top of them like on any other page.
Will the other side accept it?
Whoever asked for the signature decides. Many forms and agreements accept a signed PDF; some ask for ink on paper or a certified digital signature.
